Future projects
The Alliance is in its infancy, but we have lots of plans for the future to spread the word as much as possible about washable nappies.
We need more volunteers to help us achieve what we have set out to, so if you are interested in helping us out, then please contact us.
What do we expect from volunteers?
Being a volunteer for us would mean putting in as much or as little time as you can. There is no pressure, or expectations - just knowledge of using real nappies and lot of enthusiasm.
Some suggestions of how you can help are:
-
Being a 'nappy buddy' and being contactable by a new parent or someone that has borrowed the hire kits to give advice/support.
-
Answering enquiries - these could be by telephone or by email.
-
Administering the hire kits - we have volunteers for Weston, but would like to have volunteers across the district. It would involve a booking out procedure, admin, and checking back in and washing the kits ready for the next person to hireĀ it. It could also involve delivering them, although we haven't decided how best to administer them yet.
-
Attending events to give help, advice and support to anyone looking to start or continue using real nappies.
-
Giving antenatal talks.
- Distributing leaflets in their local area to help spread the word.
